The flux files provided through this webpage contain raw output from the data-driven diagnostic scheme. Only certain aspects of these fluxes are sufficiently robust for interpretation purposes.
In particular, many parts of the ocean are only constrained by data during limited periods of time (Period of validity). Data coverage is sufficient to constrain at least the seasonal cycle in most of the ocean, while interannual variations can only be constrained in the tropical and northern Pacific, the northern Atlantic, and some other locations.
