Kolloquium: Dennis Baldocchi

Californian ecosystems are an ideal laboratory for studying how ecosystems respond to environmental change as they experience a wide range and variation in temperature (0 to 40 C) and rainfall (wet fall and winters, dry springs and summers) and huge year to year variations in rainfall (300 to 900 mm/y). This talk will focus on 23 years of carbon, water and energy flux measurements over and above an oak savanna ecosystem, as well as other measurements across scales. Lessons will reflect on how the structure and function of this ecosystem thrives in this challenging environment.
