Max Planck Society
Max Planck Institut for Biogeochemistry

Third-party Projects

As a member of the German Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science, the institute is jointly funded by the German government and the State of Thuringia. Approximately 25% of the overall institute's funding has been successfully acquired from competitive third-party grants in the past 5 years.

Scientific research projects funded through the basic Max Planck Society budget can be found on the web pages of our departments and research groups. In addition, the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry pursues collaborative research projects (listed below) that are competitively acquired from third parties, e.g. European Commission (EU), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and other national ministries.

For any questions regarding third-party grants, please contact our BGC Grants Team
