Main Focus
My research leverages crowd-sensed plant occurrences to advance ecosystem research. I study environmental, biodiversity, and functional patterns, particularly in human-modified urban and agricultural ecosystems. Using ecological indicator values, plant functional traits, and ecosystem-level measurements, I favor data-rich and machine learning approaches to address large-scale ecological questions. I coordinate the FloraFlux initiative, a community-driven project integrating automated plant identification at flux-tower sites to link biodiversity, and functional biogeography with ecosystem research.
