Mario Esteban Cárdenas-Vélez, Doctoral Researcher
Main Focus
My primary research focus is quantifying regional
carbon fluxes in the Amazon by combining atmospheric inverse modeling with data
from multiple greenhouse gas observation platforms. I explore the biophysical
factors influencing CO₂ exchange and the spatiotemporal variability of
ecosystem sources and sinks. The primary goal is to improve top-down estimates
of the Amazon’s carbon budget under changing environmental conditions.
