Main Focus

Simulation-based studies on how post-disturbance forest recovery dynamics influence a forest's long-term average carbon stock. A specific focus lies on the effects of site characteristics and the initial vegetation state on the unfolding recovery dynamics. The applicability of global remote sensing products to accurately capture initial conditions after disturbances and provide model constraints over time is assessed.

PhD student within the MC3 4 Earth Center.
