October 25, 2018
Prof. Dr. Ralf Bartenschlager from University Clinic Heidelbergs and the German Cancer Research Center will talk about "The discovery of an unknown to successful antiviral therapy."
Prof. Bartenschlager and his research group succeeded for the first time in multiplying the hepatitis C virus in the laboratory. This was a decisive prerequisite for the development of targeted drugs against the virus, which leads to liver cirrhosis and liver cancer in chronic infections.
The public talk will start at 05:00 p.m. at the Abbe Center Beutenberg, Hans-Knöll-Str. 1, 07745 Jena. It will be held in German language.
