Laser Ablation

Based on a breadboard interface designed by M. Wieser and W.A. Brand (while still at Finnigan MAT in Bremen) we have developed a Laser Ablation system for analysing δ13C variation tree rings with high spacial resolution (<50 micron). The system comprizes a 266 nm Nd-YAG laser, a helium-flushed ablation cell and a combustion interface. First results can be found in

The generous donation of the breadboard interface by Thermo-Finnigan MAT (Bremen) is greatfully acknowledged.
