Current Research Interests

In the framework of AquaDiva, I am trying to get insights into the molecular diversity of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and its properties and functions in the critical zone. With the high resolution organic structural spectroscopy (FT-ICR MS, Orbitrap and NMR), we are able to decipher certain DOM compositions; by incorporating with stable and radiocarbon isotopes as well as incorporation with other CRC members, we aim to link to the DOM compositions, properties and functions for the improved perception of DOM's biogeochemical role in the ecosystems.
