My work at the BGP:

Currently I am working as a technical assistant in the 14Constraint project of Susan Trumbore. My main task is the preparation of soil and plant samples, different kinds of measurements in the lab and the management of datasets. I am also part of the Plant Allocation Group of Henrik Hartmann where I analyse NSC extracts from plant tissues by HPLC. Furthermore I am still part of the Soil Biogeochemistry Group of Marion Schrumpf where I have been working since 2011 in different projects. In collaboration with Iris Kuhlmann I also prepare all kinds of operation instructions for the institut.

skills/ask me about:

  • sample preparation (sieving, grinding, weighing)
  • enzyme analysis in soils
  • density fractionation
  • sugar analysis via HPAEC-PAD
  • CEC-measurement
  • soil incubations and CO2 measurements
  • pH-measurements
  • where to find and how to use lab equipment
  • how to write an operation instruction
  • details about Occupational Integration Management (BEM)
