Twice a year the IMPRS-gBGC accepts applications for PhD positions.

Your application consists of three steps:

  1. Online registration & submission of application documents (19 November - 9 January)
  2. (Possibly) Phone or video conference interview (late January and early February)
  3. Selection symposium in Jena (13-15 March, 2023)

How to write a good application, application involving previous studies and career, documents, and requirements.  
If you are already funded as a doctoral researcher at the FSU Jena or the MPI for Biogeochemistry, you can be admitted to the IMPRS-gBGC as an associated member. Contact the program coordinator for more information on this. We call for applications twice per year. Our selection is highly competitive (usually about 25% of the projects are filled). Third-party funded projects are open until the position is filled.

Visas, living in Germany, and residence permit information.  
The following PhD projects are offered during the 26th call for applications. Online application for up to three PhD projects will be possible from 19 November - 9 January.
