IMPRS-gBGC anniversary 2021

1. Covid-19
We wanted to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in 2020 with you. This was not possible due to the global pandemic so we postponed it to 2021. Still it is not be possible for all our alumni to travel to Germany that is why we decided to hold a virtual event.
2. Agenda
This is the agenda.
You will have plenty of opportunities to meet old colleagues and new faces. This will be an event full of scientific and personal exchange between past and current PhD researchers, faculty members and associated scientists with diverse background and experiences. Active contributions by alumni were given priority because there were many internal exchange opportunities (retreats, evaluations, seminars) recently. Different research fields of the IMPRS and career paths outside of academia will be represented. Alumni will talk about their current position, interdisciplinary skills they achieved during their PhD, career steps they took, as well as dual career and work-life balance.
2.1 Oral presentations
The talks will be about 10 min and followed by a short discussion in the plenary. All members are highly encouraged to make use of the breakout discussions to exchange about their science and any topics of interest like career planning, dual career, etc. during the breakout discussions in separate rooms.
2.2 Group discussions
This format showcases the broad job perspectives available to IMPRS alumni. In the beginning of this exchange opportunity you will be introduced to the alumni. Get first-hand insights in career paths of former members and contribute actively to the discussions in groups. Scientific discussions, informal conversations and development of personal career networks - everything is possible.
