Main Focus

I am interested in exchange processes across water surfaces in high northern latitudes, primarily processes evolving around the carbon cycle. In order to better understand underlying processes, I am working on a data synthesis in which carbon fluxes (CO2 and methane) as well as environmental parameters are compiled from observations over lakes and rivers. We are also carrying out new measurements over water surfaces in remote Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. You can find more information here.

For my doctoral thesis, I measured methane emissions in the Canadian oil and gas industry among other things, and I am still interested in this topic and in particular in emission mitigation.

Keywords:

  • Exchange processes of Arctic water surfaces
  • Carbon cycle
  • Impacts of anthoropogenic disturbance
