Soil & Vegetation Functioning
Climate, vegetation, and soil interact in manifold ways at different temporal and spatial scales reacting to and exerting feedbacks on ongoing environmental change. We combine experiments and in-situ long-term observation with Earth observations gathered by aircraft and satellites to analyse with data-driven machine learning and theory-driven mechanistic modelling.

Research in semi-arid tree-grass Dehesa systems
MANIP, a long term experimental project, aims at understanding responses in different eddy covariance sites from nutrient loading (primarily N and P) and water availability, on ecosystem-level carbon, water fluxes, and their interannual variability.
