Main Focus

My main field of interest is the modeling of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Confronting these model results with atmospheric observations is an important approach for determining the sources and sinks of the greenhouse gases. My current focus is on the noble gas radon, whose observations provide additional information on the vertical mixing of the atmosphere. As part of the ITMS (“Integrated Greenhouse Gas Monitoring System for Germany”) project, I am investigating whether radon can help to improve the greenhouse gas emission estimates in Germany.
