I am a PhD student in the 'Plant Allocation' group of Henrik Hartmann. My research interests focuse on the causes for host selection of the European spruce bark beetle Ips typographus. I am looking into the volatile emissions of spruce bark and the effect of weather events (windthrow, drought) on these emission profiles. I investigate which compounds might act as cues for the bark beetle to distinguish between healthy and weakened tress.
