Mourning the loss of Tonatiuh Guillermo Nuñez Ramirez

We mourn the loss of our long-time colleague Tonatiuh Nuñez Ramirez, who passed away completely unexpectedly in March 2025. Tonatiuh joined our institute in December 2010, initially as a doctoral student in the IMPRS graduate school with a thesis on inverse modelling of global methane fluxes. He then continued to work as a scientific programmer as part of a third-party funded project. Since 2021, he has supported the ICOS Flask and Calibration Laboratory in this function. Tonatiuh was known by all employees as a friendly, kind-hearted and attentive colleague who always aimed to help his fellow team members.
His untimely death is a great loss. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife and three young children.
You are cordially invited to share your memories of Tonatiuh in the virtual book of condolence.
