15th IMPRS Anniversary
- Datum: 25.11.2025
Time: 9 AM - 8 PM
Place: MPI-BGC
(plenary talks will be streamed via Zoom)
We
wanted to celebrate our 15 year anniversary with you.
2. Agenda
This is the final agenda.
You
will have many opportunities to meet old colleagues and new faces.
This will be an event full of scientific and personal exchange between past and current IMPRS members,
PhD researchers, postdocs, group leaders and professors with diverse
backgrounds and experiences. Active contributions from alumn were given
priority, as there are many internal exchange opportunities
(retreats, colloquia, seminars). Different IMPRS research areas and non- academic career paths will be represented.
Alumn will talk about their career development or transition, uncertainty/impermanence, networking strategies, personal branding, leadership, dual careers, work-life balance, diversity and inclusion.
2.1 Plenary talks
Get inspired by the plenary talks, which provide insights into current scientific trends, and groundbreaking developments by selected speakers. The talks will be followed by a discussion in the plenary. All attendees are encouraged to actively contribute their questions and ideas.
2.2 Roundtable discussions
The
topic-related roundtable discussions will begin with a teaser talk. Participants are encouraged to share their viewpoints in an open discussion. The aim of the
discussions is to explore different perspectives and learn from each other.
2.3 Walk & talk
This format is a casual and interactive way to engage participants in discussions while walking. Participants form small groups and walk together, discussing
predetermined topics or allowing conversations to flow naturally. It takes place outdoors and the individual groups can decide on the distance and route.
2.4 Speed networking
The speed networking aims at offering an opportunity to connect, learn, and gain career insights from those who have successfully transitioned
from academia to diverse professional fields, as well as those who have remained in academia. Current PhD candidates are welcome to gain firsthand knowledge of career trajectories and industry expectations as well as building a network of professional contacts and potential mentors.
2.5 Fireside chats
The fireside chats are informal and intimate sessions, where alumn share insights and stories. We aim to create an informal atmosphere that
encourages open dialogue and interaction between the
speaker and attendees.3. Confirmed alumn
