Regional effects global: talk at IYGU opening

2. Februar 2016
On the occasion of the official inauguration of the International year of global Understanding (IYGU) in Jena, group leader Julia Marshall from Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry presented her research and put it in a global context. The Canadian physicist investigates atmospheric greenhouse gases by using satellite measurements. With this new method, she aims at improved detecting of sources and sinks of carbon dioxide and to more accurately describe them in computer models. The carbon cycle is a notable example for global effects arising from regional phenomena.
