IPCC Summary for Policy Makers on “Physical Science Basis” is being finalized

The scientists of working group I (WGI) of the 6th Assessment report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded their report on the “Physical Science Basis”. As one of the Lead Authors, our Max Planck Director Dr. Sönke Zaehle contributed to chapter 5: Global carbon and other biogeochemical cycles and feedbacks.

In its current 14th session, the working group discusses and presents the Summary for Policymakers for final approval to the IPCC delegates from 26 July to 6 August. The final scientific report including the Summary for Policymakers will be released, subject to acceptance by the IPCC, on 9 August 2021.
