Alexander Winkler invited to join the 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting
The 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting was dedicated to physics and was held from June 30 to July 5, 2024. It brought together around 40 Nobel Laureates and 635 young scientists from more than 90 nations.
Alexander Winkler, group leader in the Biogeochemical Integration department, was honored to be selected by the Max-Planck Society as attendant. "I was deeply inspired by the stories of the Nobel laureates I met," says Alex. "Although some faced rejection and skepticism, some were even forced to fund their own experiments in their garages, or others were on the verge of leaving academia, they nevertheless kept going and eventually achieved significant scientific progress — which was recognized with a Nobel Prize!"
