17. Dezember 2016
The TRY database, hosted by J. Kattge and G. Bönisch at MPI-BGC, collects and compiles plant trait data to quantify and scale global plant trait diversity. Since its establishment in 2007, it has been continuously improved and steadily growing, now covering more than 5.6 million trait records of 100,000 plant species.

In December 2016, the milestone of more than 100 scientific publications that use plant trait data of the open TRY database was reached. The list of publications can be found here.

TRY is a network of vegetation scientists headed by Future Earth and the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, providing a global archive of curated plant traits. The TRY database is a research platform of the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research iDiv.
