Greencycles II Training Workshop II Benchmarking and Data Assimilation took place in September 2011 at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena
The course will cover the following aspects:
- Overview on current benchmarking activities
- Treatment of data errors and model-data inconsistencies
- Examples: eddy-covariance measurements / remote sensing
- Metrics for model evaluation
- Frequency-based methods / Metrics: Selection of appropriate metrics
- Introduction to model uncertainty analysis
- Parameter screening techniques, latin hypercube sampling
- Introduction to data assimilation methods
- Monte-Carlo Methods, Ensemble Kalman Filters, adjoint methods
